Spice it Up!

To all my New Englanders experiencing some cold weather... I have the perfect recipe for this Winter! I don't know about you, but personally I don't enjoy going out or staying up late during the winter as much I love it during warmer months. I'd much rather stay in and try new recipies while jamming to my favorite Pandora stations ...or relax by the fireplace sipping on a warm drink next to my furry daughter, Valentina.

I bet many of you guys can relate to me this Winter season! I had to take advantage of a marvelous recipe that I stumbled upon while reading The New York Times. It combined chocolate and red wine in hopes of creating the ultimate winter drink!

Hot chocolate & red wine? Don't mind if I do!

I followed the recipe I had originally found, but as you know, I like to put my own spin on things!

So I decided to "Spice It Up"!

For all the hot chocolate lovers & wine connoisseur ... this one is for you!

1 bottle of inexpensive red wine (Sweet Red Blend)

1 Lindt Chocolate Bar (Dark or Milk Chocolate )

2-3 Marshmallows

Pinch of Cinnamon

Pinch or Sugar

Chilli Peppers ( Chop 3 red, green and orange add to taste depending on how hot you prefer it!)

Instructions:

Pour 1/2 bottle of wine into a pot. When it starts boiling lower temperature to medium & add 1/2 of the Lindt chocolate bar.. Stir until the chocolate and wine are blended together; add cinnamon and sugar while keeping the temperature on low. You can add more chocolate or wine until you have used the entire bottle of wine (this will obviously give you a few mugs worth). The last thing to do is add the hot peppers. BE CAREFUL! I sprinkled tinny pieces, you don't want to make it too spicy. Lastly, after letting it cool for 3-5 minutes, top it off with marshmallows.

Wasn't that simple?

Enjoy!

Until my new topic...

XOXO
