Tasting Something New

I told you before I would keep my eyes open in search for wine tastings. It was a pleasure attending my first one on Federal Hill at Gasbarro's Wines yesterday evening. If you are from Rhode Island you know that some of the best italian restaurants are located on the Hill. For those who are not familiar with the area you MUST try at least one of the amazing restaurants located on Federal Hill (Atwells Ave).

We tasted Heitz Wine Cellars:

Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2013

Napa Valley Grignolino 2013

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Ink Grade Port

As far as the white wines go I enjoyed the Chardonnay. It was my first time trying Grignolino. I have to say I liked it a lot. It reminds me of the holidays. Would be the perfect one to pair with Thanksgiving dinner. Surprisingly enough, I enjoyed the Port of which I am not a huge fan but would definitely recommend it.

I couldn't end the night without stopping by my second home for dinner, Circe. Not really in the mood for anything new I ordered my typical dish, grilled scottish salmon with vegetables. Luckily I was with Amanda who ordered the mushroom truffle risotto. It was to die for!
